First, use your fingers to part your hair at the roots. Next, pull your hair under your ear to whichever side you’ve parted on. Hint: if you have shorter hair and some pieces won’t reach, you can keep them on the other side for a messier side braid.

Braid your hair as you normally would. After you’ve finished, have fun with it! The trick is to make your hair not look too neat, so feel free to pick some wispy pieces out of the braid. Also, if any pieces from the other side didn’t reach, you can tuck them by your ear. If you have side bangs, sweep them out of the braid and let them hang over your forehead.
