* Messy side bun hairstyles
Our model’s hair has a bit of natural wave, and the stylists simply enhanced the look by curling Mara’s hair with several different sized curling irons.
If your hair is straight, try spritzing each section before and after it is curled to help hold the style.
Step 1: Easy Does It
To create the updo, the sides of the hair were pulled back in tiny sections. Each piece was gently twisted and then pinned into place with a bobby pin.
The hair in back was then softly twisted and pinned into an easy, loose bun. For that casual, tousled look, our ModelBride stylist pulled a few pieces around Mara’s face to add softness, touching up with a curling iron as needed.
Step 2: Add Fullness
If you find the bun isn’t as full as you’d like or your hair is not quite long enough, Hair Extensions are a great way to add body and length.
Step 3: Finishing Touch
Because Lori and her team created this look for a beach wedding, they used the Soiree Silk Flower Clip next to the bun in back. Mara’s look is finished with the Balihoo Chandelier Earrings.
* Low side bun hairstyles
A messy low bun that’s a great hairstyle for bob or shoulder length hair. Loosely tied low bun in blonde hair with black highlights and curly, straight bangs on forehead. Light brown tresses tied in a braided side bun with a hair pin.
Step 1: Pull hair into a low ponytail and secure with a pony band.
Step 2: Separate the ponytail into sections and curl using tongs.
Step 3: Rough up each curled section with your fingers (rub the hair between your thumb and index finger) and use a texturising wax.
Step 4: However you like, pin each section into the base of the ponytail and secure with hair-coloured grips, then decorate with a gorgeous diamante or flower accessory.
* Loose side bun hairstyles
Tied in a loose messy bun the light brown locks have bangs on parted sides.
To create this loose messy side bun use a texturising product first and work through the mid-lengths to the ends. Create a deep side parting and sweep your fringe to one side. Take the rest of the hair and pull into a side ponytail. Take sections of the ponytail and twist to create loose curls, or you can use tongs if you wish. Loop each section until you get the curl you want and pin into the base of the ponytail (where the pony band is) with a hair-coloured grip. Finish with a good spritz of firm hold hairspray.
* Curly side bun hairstyles
The curly side bun is as simple as a ponytail. In fact, it starts from a ponytail. Pull your hair back into a ponytail and secure it with a hair tie. Gather the ponytail and then give it a twist. As you twist the hair, wrap it around the ponytail until you reach the end. Secure the bun with bobby pins to keep it in place.

* How to do this Prom hairstyles side bun
Time it took us:
· 5 minutes
Works on:
· Medium or long hair
· Sorta dirty hair
Stuff to have handy:
· Bobby pins
· Hairspray
Step 1: Brush out a 2-inch-wide bang section and secure back with two bobby pins. Loosen a bit with your fingers by tugging at the hairline.
Step 2: Now you’re left with a section of hair over each ear. Run your index finger from behind your left ear up to the crown of your head. Smooth this section of hair into a low ponytail behind your left ear then twist the pony twice toward the back of your head. Secure the remaining tail with bobby pins, then repeat on the right side. Connect the two twists with a bobby pin.
Step 3: And that leaves the always fashionable “mullet” at the nape of your neck. You can leave it like that. We’re all done.
Step 4: Just kidding. Back to the mullet. Hold your left index and middle finger under the bobby pins in Step 2, and roll a messy 1-inch section of hair up around your fingers to create a coil. Pinch it, slip it off your fingers and secure with a bobby pin. Don’t attach it to the twists in Step 2 or you’ll pull them out. Repeat with remaining hair until it’s all pinned up.
Step 5: Mist with hairspray.
